HAFL Opening Day Scrimmages

The Vikings hit the gridiron Saturday and showed us what they had. The offense moved the ball well and the defense held. The coaches were pleased with the teams performance and noting that we still had work to do. "...we must have every player at practice in order to grow together as a team", Coach "D" proclaimed in the after game huddle. This observer noted that the fundamentals were taking root and will sprout consistency on the field. Well done Vikings. Keep up the hard work

Conditioning, Conditioning, Conditioning!
Moms and Dad, keep an eye on your players' intake of water. Your athlete will need lots of water after practice. Water or Gator Aid, and or Power Aid, will work best to replenish the fluids and electrolytes expended during practice and or games. Cokes and other soft-drinks will not supply his needs and hinder his conditioning efforts. The best indicator of hydration or lack of is to look in the toilet bowl. Urine too dark like apple juice is an indicator of de-hydration. It should look like lemon aid (light) NO heavy food before practice and or games. Fruits, breakfast bar or energy bars. Stay away from dairy foods/drinks, fried foods and fatty foods.
